Investigator for the Transport Department

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will be safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation, detention centers, and client transport.

The National Transport Unit (NTE) became the Transport Department (TA) on September 1, 2025. TA's task is to transport deprived of liberty persons. The transports mainly involve correctional clients, between detention centers and prisons as well as to court hearings and medical visits, but also deprived of liberty persons for example for the Police, the Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, the Swedish Migration Agency, and psychiatry. In 2025, TA will conduct around 130,000 transports, which includes both domestic and international transports.

The Business Support Unit primarily supports the department head but also other units within the department. Support is provided in the form of analyses, strategies, and plans for the department head's entire planning horizon, case preparation, maintenance of collaboration points, as well as monitoring and development of the transport operations. The unit is also responsible for department-wide administration and coordination within various operational areas as well as the entire fleet of vehicles of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.
